Features & Highlights

LocalTime is a free MT4/MT5 indicator developed by Forex FanClub, a professional software development team. It was built to help traders make precise trading decisions using their local time. In addition to its local time display, LocalTime features evenly spaced horizontal grid lines — a capability absent from the standard MT4/MT5 platform — enabling traders to visualise price volatility at a glance and conduct more accurate price analysis.

Local Time Display on MT4/MT5

LocalTime's most powerful feature is its ability to display your local time directly on your chart — something standard MT4/MT5 cannot do. With this feature, there's no need to manually calculate the offset between server time and your timezone, making trade decisions effortless. You can customise the time format, grid interval, font size, and text colour to suit your personal preferences, ensuring you always know exactly when key market sessions open and economic news is scheduled — all in your own time.

Flexible Display Formats with Full Timezone Support

LocalTime offers comprehensive flexibility in how time is displayed. You can choose between 12-hour (AM/PM) and 24-hour formats, and select whether to show the year and month. The timezone offset can be manually configured, making LocalTime ideal for traders operating across multiple global regions.

Colour-Coded Vertical Grids for Key Trading Sessions

LocalTime allows you to assign up to four distinct colours to vertical grid lines for important time periods — such as the London or New York market opens. These colour-coded session markers make it instantly clear how price behaves during each market session, helping you plan your trading schedule with confidence.

Horizontal Price Grid for Understanding Volatility

Standard MT4/MT5 does not offer evenly spaced horizontal grid lines, making it difficult to gauge volatility at a glance. LocalTime solves this problem. You can set the horizontal grid interval in points, giving you instant clarity on how much each instrument is moving. For example, drawing horizontal grid lines every 10 pips at a consistent interval allows you to accurately assess price range changes across different time periods.

Optimised Rendering Performance

LocalTime is built with performance in mind. It renders efficiently even on charts with large historical datasets, ensuring smooth operation without slowing down your MT4/MT5 terminal.
